Tiger Woods Undergoes Seventh Back Surgery
Tiger Woods has recently undergone his seventh back surgery, this time involving a disc replacement in his lower back due to persistent pain and mobility challenges. The procedure took place in New York, and Woods expressed confidence in his decision, prioritizing his health. While he did not specify how long he would be sidelined, he left open the possibility of participating in upcoming tournaments, including the Hero World Challenge and the PNC Championship in December.
This marks Woods' second surgery this year; he previously had surgery in March for a ruptured left Achilles tendon. Over the past 13 months, he has faced two back surgeries. In a statement, Woods revealed that scans had shown a collapsed disc and other complications, leading to his choice for disc replacement. His back issues date back to his first surgery in April 2014, and he has also dealt with serious injuries from a car crash in February 2021. Since then, he has competed in only 15 events over the last four years.
